aurorasyd134759.jpgA splendid opportunity awaits those who want the experience of round-the-world cruising to or from Sydney.  P&O UK have just released a selection of itineraries for the 2010/2011 season perfect for those keen to cruise at the festive time of the year - Christmas and New Year - in Europe or the UK.  Departing Sydney November 4, 2010 and arriving in Southampton December 17, the Oriana travels via Asia, the Indian subcontinent and then through the Suez Canal into Europe.

Travellers can spend a white Christmas with loved ones in Europe or explore their favourite cities at their own pace, before embarking on a return journey aboard either the Arcadia or the Aurora.  The Arcadia leaves from Southampton on January 5, 2011, cruising via the Panama Canal and arrives in Sydney in February.  Alternatively the Aurora departs Southampton on January 9 and travels via South America to Sydney arriving early March.

This is a fantastic opportunity to experience life aboard two different cruise ships, each boasting world-class amenities and magnificent itineraries. Passengers also have the time to explore Europe before returning to home shores  - without having to travel via an airport.

Oriana

Following in the wake of the first Oriana, which entered service in 1960, the new Oriana launched in April 1995.  With an operating speed of 24 knots she was the fastest cruise ship built for 25 years.  Specifically designed to operate round-the-world cruises, Oriana’s high speed and high technical specifications, combined with the latest in ship technology, enable her to operate the most far-reaching itineraries.

Aurora

A superliner, Aurora boasts a cosmopolitan air  combined with the very best of classic British design.

There’s the chic ambience of Café Bordeaux, the Moorish splendour of her main restaurants, the Lalique-inspired waterfall in her impressive atrium, the style of Raffles chocolate and coffee bar - and much more (one is even housed beneath a glass canopy, so that you can swim and lounge poolside no matter what the weather).
