Cruise West's Spirit of Oceanus departs Singapore on March 6, 2010 sailing into the west. She returns to port on February 3, 2011.The voyage will follow the major routes of the great explorers beginning with Marco Polo - you are able to take the entire adventure or simply join for one of the voyages. Marco Polo explored the trade routes of South east Asia in the 13th century for the family company of traders.Marco Polo together with his father and uncle was one of the first westerners to visit China - and to write about his travels. Your cruise will take you to Thailand, Burma and Sri Lanka. Then onto Iran, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Jordan and Egypt, finishing in Alexandria on May 5.

On May 5 Spirit of Oceanus will depart Alexandria following the voyage of Odysseus and the Phoneicians. This voyage explores the islands where gods and goddesses are said to have meddled in the affairs of mortals. Visiting ports in Greece and Turkey, guests will enjoy the cultural richness of Tunis, Algeria, Italy, Sicily, Malta, Spain and Portugal before arriving in Honfleur France on July 10.

The Viking Sagas are the inspiration for the next voyage which departs on the same day sailing west to Ireland, the Orkneys and Scandinavia. Glaciers and cities, ancient landscapes and leisurely days at sea will fill your days and you will visit the cities of Tallinn, St. Petersburg, London and Edinburgh before sailing across the Atlantic to Iceland, Greenland the Faroe Islands to St John's in Halifax, arriving on September 8.

map_compass_is.jpgChristopher Colombus sailed the Atlantic to discover the Americas and his voyages are the inspiration for the next part of the journey. Leaving St John's on September 8 Spirit of Oceanus will take you along the Atlantic coastline, around the Caribbean and through the Panama Canal. You will have time to explore the tropical rainforests of Panama and Costa Rica and disembark at Guayaquil, Ecuador. Those who wish to explore further will have the options of visiting Peru's iconic Machu Picchu or the Galapagos Islands. This part of the journey ends on October 25.

Then its onto the South Pacific and the islands that were explored by Captain Cook in the 18th century. From Guayequil you will sail to Darwin. The remote islands of Easter Island, Polynesia ,New Guinea and the Cook Islands are all part of this itinerary before your reach New Zealand and Australia sailing into the northern most port of Darwin on January 19, 2011.

Spice was a vital for trade and so the final part of the voyage will take you from Darwin on January 19 through the Pacific and back to Singapore following the voyage of Ferdinand Magellan and exploring the cutlrues of Indonesia. Arriving back in Singapore on February 3, 2011.

You can purchase single voyages, a set of voyages or the entire circumnavigation. Prices start at US $4995 for a single voyage - up to the full voyage at US $233,995.
The 'Spirit of Oceanus' is al all-suite ship for 120 guests. There are 14 suites with private balconies and all have marble bathrooms. Two lounges, an outside bistro and an open-seating dining room are features.
